PHOENIX, AZ – Frontier Airlines, has announced ten new nonstop routes in Phoenix, Arizona that will begin operations beginning with the 2022 winter season.
Frontier President and CEO Barry Biffle announced the routes from the newly remodeled Terminal 3 along with Phoenix Councilwoman Ann O’Brien and Phoenix Director of Aviation Services Chad Makovsky.
“Frontier Airlines will launch new nonstop service from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) to Philadelphia (PHL), Baltimore-Washington (BWI), Orange County, California (SNA), Seattle-Tacoma (SEA), Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP), Portland (PDX), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL), Nashville (BNA), Indianapolis (IND) and Kansas City (MCI) in November 2022 and January 2023,” said Frontier Airlines President and CEO Barry Biffle.
Biffle also noted that to celebrate the launch of the new routes, the airline, considered the greenest airline in the U.S., will offer fares starting at $19.
Frontier’s continued growth in Phoenix will be supported by the planned opening in November of a new crew base, which plans to initially employ up to 180 pilots and 275 flight attendants.
“Frontier Airlines is making rapid progress in Phoenix, and these ten new routes mark the growth of business and leisure travelers who choose our great city as a destination,” said the city’s mayor, Kate Gallego.
“We are grateful for the commitment Frontier has made to its crew base and the employment opportunities it provides. More people will discover why Phoenix is a great vacation destination, business hub and a place to call home,” she added.
Frontier operates the largest fleet of A320neo aircraft with an average age of four years. The aircraft have ultra-efficient engines and light, comfortable seats. In addition, the airline consumes 43% less fuel than other carriers, the City reported.
