New Green freight corridor, powered by electric trucks, to connect Texas and Nuevo León

In a move to decarbonize cross-border trade, the company Green Space E-Mobility has unveiled plans for a dedicated “Green Freight Transport Route” linking Texas and Nuevo León with a fleet of state-of-the-art electric trucks. The initiative aims to slash emissions and provide a sustainable logistics alternative for one of North America’s busiest trade corridors.

The project is slated to launch in November with an initial fleet of five electric tractor-trailers from the brand Windrose. Designed for long-haul routes, these vehicles feature extended range, ultra-fast charging capabilities, and significantly lower operating costs than their diesel counterparts, promising both environmental and economic advantages for freight companies.

The route’s first phase will connect Laredo, Texas, with Monterrey, Nuevo León, leveraging the strategic Nuevo León–Laredo Border Port and the La Gloria–Colombia highway. A future expansion plans to extend the corridor north to Dallas.

“This electromobility corridor is designed to be a competitive and sustainable alternative to traditional freight transport, aligning with global decarbonization trends,” said Horacio de la Torre, general manager of Green Space E-Mobility USA.

The project has garnered government support in Nuevo León. Marco González, Secretary of Regional and Agricultural Development, confirmed the state will facilitate the installation of charging stations at strategic locations to ensure the seamless operation of the electric vehicles.

By strengthening the critical trade link between Monterrey and Dallas via Laredo, the project aims to establish a pioneering binational corridor focused on innovative mobility and reducing the environmental footprint of the freight industry.
