CHIHUAHUA – In order to review alternatives for attracting new investments, the Governor of Chihuahua received representatives of the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturer’s Association (Teema), whose operations have been a factor in the state’s economic and technological development.
The company, through its companies Pegatron, Foxconn, Invectec and Wistron, all of which specialize in the manufacture of semiconductors, has been present in the state for more than 20 years.
Governor María Eugenia Campos thanked Teema for its confidence in the state, for establishing its production and value chains in the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) process, in addition to the possibility of receiving raw material for the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Assembly Testing Packaging (ATP) processes.
He highlighted that Chihuahua and Taiwan have common interests, since the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development is working on attracting investments thanks to the opportunities offered by Nearshoring.
He indicated that in the state’s universities, priority is also given to technological branches, in order to have professionals in the field.
In his speech, Richard Lee, president of the company, affirmed that the work done by the governor provides certainty to the manufacturing sector. Currently, Ciudad Juarez is positioned as a leader in the industry and the presence of these companies places Chihuahua in the first national places in exports.
In the case of Foxconn, it produces computer motherboards and boards for Tesla vehicles; Inventec develops computers and servers; Pegatron manufactures computers for vehicles and Wistron produces servers.
